You can have up to 8 channels via WDM provided the MOTU supports that many. Your MOTU will only show up as a single device in the windows sound settings, but it is a multi channel device. I don't remember ever installing drivers for the ZOOM, but it works, so either i did install them at some point, or it does have the option of MAC or Windows interface when you plug it in, so might be something in the firmware or format. Windows can't use ASIO directly, it can only use it via a host program that runs on it like Pro Tools, Cubase etc. The Zoom, I'm honestly not sure what drivers it's using, but a lot of sound interface installer programs will install both ASIO and WDM drivers on windows. Are we sure that just because a device appears in the Patch Panel in FL that it will actually receive a signal from it?ĭaVinci Resolve - PA test 2 18_04_2021 12_48_24 PM.png (20.87 KiB) Viewed 1865 timesHi, there's a few things to answer. So, do you just set the patch, arm the track for record, and press Record? All that works, it seems: I see it recording in red, but no movement on the signal, and no recording is left when pressing Stop. My MOTU CueMix app shows sound received from the mic, and I'm able to patch Analog 1 from the MOTU into a Track in FL, but when I record, no sound is received or recorded. I'm not sure I haven't been down this road already. Looking again, I am seeing all my MOTU Audio inputs in the Patch Panel in FL, even though only ONE Analog Input "device" is shown in Windows Sound. I can get the stereo to work fine in DR direct to my MOTU for out, but with 5.1 had to use VoiceMeeter to get access to the non-Main Out ports to the center, surrounds and LFE. My MOTU devices (the WDM ones) appear in DR, but not all of them in a form I can use for 5.1. I'd be interested to know what type drivers (WDM, KS, MME, ASIO) your H6 creates in Windows Sound Panel. I have an older Zoom H4, but I'm pretty sure it uses ASIO. I can’t produce and mix through a generic low latency driver and laptop speakers.Hmm. Any suggestions?Īnyway can anyone direct me regarding the Audio issue. Pretty sure the Focusrite needs to be available in that list and used to be. If I go into Audio connections/Inputs then look at the Audio Device column, there is now only the low latency generic or “Not connected” available as options. Perhaps that is just some other “bug” I don’t know about.įurther to this. It comes up with a “No internet connection” message which is strange as I’m obviously connected and have no trouble connecting through the support and forum tab to get here. I notice that on startup the Hub no doesn’t automatically connect to the internet as it used to. The focusrite I/O hasn’t been changed or anything and still plays all my normal system sounds, mouse clicks, video, Internet etc. Now for some reason however when I go into Studio Setup/VST Audio System and click in the driver selection drop down arrow and click on the Focusrite option (which is still there in the list of options) I get the following error message: Cannot Open Focusrite USB ASIO. Every so often my Cubase 9.5.50 instal/system reverts from my Focusrite USB ASIO driver to the generic low latency driver, seemingly out of of nowhere, of it’s own accord… Usually it’s a simple matter of going into VST Audio System and switching back to the Focusrite driver. ![]() ![]() ![]() We improve ourselves in years with the support of our patrons and visitors. ![]() ![]() If there exists an easy out for someone in Joe’s position, then this is it. It’s pretty convenient that the person you are looking for blackmail of the highest order on once manslaughtered someone and has video evidence. In many ways, Benji’s terribleness is helpful to Joe. That‘s the kind of guy we’re dealing with here. He also once accidentally killed someone during a hazing ritual and kept the video evidence as potential blackmail on his friends who were also there. ![]() Mostly that he is the worst: entitled, selfish, and not used to having to face consequences of any kind. We learn a lot about Benji in this episode, too. ![]() He locked Young Joe inside of the book-murder vault with the presumed intention that he wouldn’t be let out until he had read them all. We see a flashback to when he was younger and the owner of the bookstore slapped Joe across the face when he admitted to not having read all of the Oz books. We understand just how much Joe relies on books for guidance, just how sacredly he holds them. Something tells me that didn’t give Benji much comfort in his final, gasping moments. He did what was necessary for the story, for his story, for The Last Nice Guy Living in New York. Therefore, the weight of, say, killing one of them doesn’t seem to land so heavily on Joe. Joe doesn’t seem to see other people as people so much as characters in a story that he is writing. He has created a logic for the world, himself, and the people around him that he is not able to see past. I have zero background in psychology, so I am sure there are people out there who could diagnose Joe’s myriad of mental health issues, but, from a layman’s perspective, Joe is obsessed, delusional, and has some serious control issues. It’s that delusion: that Joe can control the situation to the degree that Beck will fall in love with him that drives everything Joe does. Gamble, as she has proven again and again in her phenomenal work on The Magicians, is a storyteller like that. Plenty of storytellers can pull the rug out from under the viewer/reader/etc., but only the best do it for a good reason past surprising their viewers, a reason that transcends past the moment to make the story-consumer think. You showrunner/writer of this episode Sera Gamble is a narrative mastermind, particularly when it comes to playing with tropes and subverting audience expectations in productive ways. This is so much creepier and so much better. After seeing the second episode of the season, which is ostensibly an hour of Joe trying to work out whether or not he should kill Benji for reals this time, I’m so glad Benji didn’t bite it in the series premiere. When I first saw Joe clock artisinal soda entrepreneur Benji over the head in the You series premiere, I assumed he had killed him only to find out slightly later that he had only given him a dangerous, bloody head injury and locked him in his book/murder vault. ![]() ![]() It helps you share USB over Network among multiple computers so people from all over the world (or your office) can use it.Īccess your printer, scanner, web-cam, USB dongle or any other supported USB device from your home PC or office laptop anywhere any time! One recent study of 2,000 American adults by scholars at Microsoft, Stanford, New York University, and the National Bureau of Economic Research offers a blueprint. So the proper approach is to find the right level to which we should aspire. ![]() I believe the answer is the latter: To quit cold turkey would impose an enormous cost on virtually anyone who needs to manage a bank account, communicate with loved ones, call for a ride, work remotely, or perform countless other everyday tasks. The question, then, is whether digital devices are more like cigs or more like carbs. But unlike with drugs of abuse, the right tactic with carbohydrates is definitely not to get rid of all of them it is to eat them more responsibly and in lower quantities. A lot of research shows that some people tend to develop addictions to this essential macronutrient because the effects of consuming it can mimic the neurochemistry of drugs of abuse. Quitting was one of the hardest things I’d ever done-for three years I dreamed about smoking almost every night, and today I am still drawn to the smell of anything burning, whether incense or a pile of tires.īut that isn’t always true of addictive substances, especially when in moderation they bring important benefits. ![]() I n some cases, looking for the “right” amount of an addictive substance or activity can be perilous, and the optimal level of use is zero, forever. The young are particularly afflicted: A 2018 Pew Research Center report found that 44 percent of teens said they often check their devices for messages or notifications as soon as they wake up, 54 percent said they spend too much time on their mobile phone, and 42 percent feel anxiety when they do not have it. For example, the average smartphone user rarely goes two hours without using her device, unlocks her device 50 or more times a day, and swipes or taps on it as many as 2,617 times in the process. The data suggest that Lembke’s claim is not hyperbole. In the words of Anna Lembke, a psychiatrist and an addiction specialist at Stanford, “Just about all of us have a digital drug of choice, and it probably involves using a smartphone-the equivalent of the hypodermic needle for a wired generation.” ī y now, nearly everyone knows we can be addicted to our digital devices.
